Release Notes

In the month of April we have developed specific features that simplify the user journey on the student and teacher side.

For example, while taking an exam or lesson, learners can mark individual tasks and complete them at a later time. They also have the option to view the results of courses directly and to repeat individual tasks as often as they wish. To give them visual support about the status of each sub-competency, they are now highlighted in different colors. In the assessment area, learners can view more details before the exam, such as info on exam requirements, exam dates & duration, and a countdown to the start of the exam.

A LaTex function is available for teachers in all editor fields. When they create tasks, they are re-labeled so that they can distinguish the different types of tasks at a glance after creation. In addition, after registering in the workspace, they get access to a helpful nu. Onboarding Introduction Course. This explains all the functions of the platform using explanatory texts and videos.

nu. goes international! The platform has been extended by 9 additional languages. In the course area, students can now navigate directly between lessons. Advanced editor functionalities are available for teachers to create assignments, such as new fonts, tables and a word counter when inserting text.
In the assessment area it is now possible for teachers to download PDFs of the reports. Not only that, they can also be very specific and filter what of the tasks should be displayed in the report. Learners are now shown the possible score during the exam and have the option to flexibly show and hide the timer during the exam duration.

Still all eyes on the assessment. The testing part has been developed into a fully comprehensive service. After the learners have completed the exam, the tasks, with the exception of the free-text questions, are evaluated automatically. Teachers also have the option to manually assign points and comment on the tasks. Once the assessment is complete, the teacher can enter a date to view the results. Learners have access to the results from this point on.
Helpful features have also been added to the rest of the platform, such as a new “Assignment 1:1” question type, incorrect answers in the cloze task, various info boxes, design tweaks, and a preview mode in the course area.

Another milestone has been reached. A first version of nu.Assessment has been available to users since the end of January. Teachers can create exams in the new section and make class-specific settings, such as setting the difficulty level, setting the duration of the exam and the exam date, flexible arrangement of tasks, enabling the shuffle option, marking a bonus question, and changing the status of questions. In addition, teachers have the option to switch to exam preview mode at any time.

As a student, I can take the exam. For this, I need to scan my ID and face in advance for identification. The student has the option to drop out of the exam early. Otherwise, the exam is considered finished as soon as the student actively completes it on the last task or the time runs out.

Furthermore, two new types of questions have been developed, which can be selected for normal courses as well as for assessment: Matrix and Numerical questions.

Important features were added to the platform in the month of December. Three new task types are available to teachers for creating lessons: Cloze tasks, true/false questions, and text/picture matching. Lessons and tasks can be flexibly arranged and adapted via drag and drop. Under the account settings it is possible for users to change the language and via the sidebar they can access the newly expanded support page at any time. Mobile navigation has also been made more user-friendly, with new labels and larger click areas.

A big release moment at nu.education. Thanks to valuable initial customer feedback, all important bugs could be fixed and a well-functioning basic version is now available to all interested parties. New features also went live with the major release. Our website also received a new coat of paint.

In the month of October, the focus was on testing, bug fixing and new feature development. Among them ran the completion of the registration and access management process, various design and usability optimizations, the implementation of the course progress and the development of a digital assistant. This guides the user step by step through the individual functionalities and can be reactivated at any time via the question mark icon. An important feature for the planned major releasein November.

The basic functionalities have been developed and various testings have been performed on our beta version. Teachers and administrators can create classes and manage them. Bei den Bildungsprofilen können Haupt- und Teilkompetenzen erstellt und Kurse zugewiesen werden. The following task types are available for creating lessons: single/multiple choice, free text questions, wysiwyg editor and file upload. Ein guter Zeitpunkt, um einen ersten Produktions-Release durchzuführen und die App ersten Benutzer*innen zur Verfügung zu stellen.
